| #1 Internet Performance Art contains one thing that a Performance Art Document does not contain. It is the potential for the Internet audience to participate in the performance. http://www.retropunkx.com/ is a Performance Art piece that is made with this goal in mind. It is much like a living Novel. A Novel that the reader can physically participate in. In this manner the reader/viewer is not just a passive intellectual reading Shakespeare but is an active participant in the Living Novel/Performance Art Experience. |
LINKS FROM RETRO PUNK X THAT ALLOW FOR READER/VIEWER PARTICIPATIONRetro Punk X is a unique performance art piece in that it was actually designed to have all the attributes of Industrial Culture Performance Art but at the same time designed for Internet consumption. A normal stage performance in the Mid-west has only an audience of 30 to 60. For the effort that is put into an Industrial Culture Performance Art piece the audience simply isn't large enough. Some performance artists compensate for this by doing the same performance over and over again in different venues. However, this stifles creativity in that the creator of the performance is consumed by the one performance and is unable to go farther. This going farther is important because the creation of a performance art piece always gives the creator ideas for another one. Since he is stuck on the one with the repetition to small audiences he can never follow his creative ideas. With my performances and performance documents the Internet audiences do reach tens of thousands. With the "Red Queen" or "Red Queen Principle" I began naming the Internet performer. He was Fred and in "Retro Punk X" is Chuck. By giving them names I am constantly aware that they are major performers in the piece and I even refer to them in the piece. HERE ARE EIGHT LINKS FROM RETRO PUNK X THAT ALLOW FOR READER/VIEWER PARTICIPATIONThese seven were made specifically for "Retro Punk X" for the purpose of allowing Internet Interaction. Due to the method those with an * may work slowly. | Yahoo Group sites and Guest Books also allow
for individual interaction. When these are attached to a Performance Art
piece they also are Internet Performance Art. Here are two that allow
for comments. Evolution Bible also allows for feedback and Church of Uncle
Woody allows for guest comments.
Communist Cafe is mostly documentation but it also has a Yahoo Group that allows for Group Interaction. COMMUNIST CAFE |
| #2 The Great Triangle Project was an internet only project and would not have worked without the internet. With this project giant triangles were drawn "conceptually" across the earth. Only two were completed but the potential is there for more. THE GREAT TRIANGLE PROJECT New Internet Technology made it possible by the use of MySpace.com. |
| #3 With Internet Performance Art you have the opportunity to put things into the performance that are far more complex than a staged or environmental theater performance can handle. PLATO'S CAVE IN COLOR is mentioned in the stage performance of the Red Queen Principle, but its complexity is only hinted at. On the web site it is explained. In the Red Queen Principle is also a complex math problem from Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking Glass. This is the MYSTERY OF THE RED QUEEN'S GARDEN. Since Retro Punk X is concerned with time or the passing of time or Zeitgeist the SHAPE OF TIME is included. It is far too complex for a staged or environmental theater performance. The EVOLUTION DANCE also taken from Lewis Carroll's works, Alice In Wonderland. The performance In Search for the Garden was a live transmission Internet Performance but the actual dance steps required an illustrated explanation. |
